Michelle Stohlmeyer Russell, Senior Partner & Managing Director, The Boston Consulting Group
Michelle Stohlmeyer Russell is a Chicago-based senior partner and managing director of The Boston Consulting Group. She led the firm’s women’s initiative, known as Women@BCG, in North America from 2013-2017 and is now the Global Women@BCG Practices Lead. Michelle is a core member of the People & Organization practice. She has deep client ex¬perience in change management, strategy and post-merger integration. Much of her work focuses on academic medical centers, hospital systems and payers. She previously led BCG’s Health Care practice for the Midwest and Canada, and is a member of the firm’s Scientist Network. Last year, Michelle received the “Women Leader in Consulting" award from Consulting magazine. Outside of work, she serves on the board of Leadership Greater Chicago and on the Civic Consulting Alliance’s Leadership Council. She received a PhD in organic chemistry from Stanford University and a BA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Michelle lives in Chicago with her husband and two daughters.
Frances Brooks Taplett, Global People Director, The Boston Consulting Group
Frances leads our Global People Team, serving the Global People Chair across BCG's four regions. As part of this remit, she has overall accountability for Women@BCG. Selected relevant experience in this role includes: Creating the core strategy and overseeing execution for Women@BCG and People Teaming Open & Communications (PTO); Developing priorities for our future HR strategy including diversity, the People Operating Model, strategic placements and other core topics; Implementing globally consistent programs and tracking results to ensure accountability. Frances has co-authored several pieces looking at Gender, Diversity and has lead a TED workshop on gender and engagement: Dispelling the Myths of the Gender "Ambition Gap"; Getting the Most from your Diversity Dollars; Five ways Men can Improve Gender Diversity at Work; How Millennial Men Can Help Break the Glass Ceiling. Prior to this role, Frances was a Principal in the Chicago office and serves our clients on a wide range of topics and cases including: Empowering women in the workplace; improving support and retention of an evolving talent pool; Organizational design & change management; Outcomes based health care, medicare advantage and commercial payers, and bio-pharma. She received her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College where she was a Tuck Scholar with Distinction.
